Deuteronomy 22:23 If there is a virgin maiden who has sworn to marry a husband, and a man finds her in the city and sleeps with her; (WEB KJV ASV WBS) Judges 13:6 Then the woman came and said to her husband, saying, “A man of God came to me, and his face was like the face of the angel of God, most great; and I didn`t ask him where he came from, nor did I tell me his name: (WEB KJV JPS ASV BBE DBY WBS YLT NAS RSV NIV) An excellent source on the subject of biblical husbands is the book The Exemplary Husband by Stuart Scott. The 5 features discussed above, as well as a whole host of others, are discussed in detail in the book. I commend The Exemplary Husband to any man who is committed to improving his marriage and wants to bring it closer in accordance with God`s plan. Essentially, stewardship means being faithful to all that God has entrusted to you here on earth. In the marital relationship, it`s a lot. As husbands, God has given us a wife, children, money, time, possessions, and many other things to manage faithfully. Genesis 2:16 says that God told man not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil or he would die. This makes man a spiritual provider. God said this before He created woman. Adam knew what God was saying, and it was his responsibility to share it with his wife. However, Genesis 3:1-6 says that something went wrong. Simply put, service humbly means putting your wife`s needs ahead of your own and systematically prioritizing them in the marital relationship. A godly husband regularly prays for the ability to put aside his natural pride and focuses on meeting his wife`s needs.

Moses 21:22 “If men fight and wound a pregnant woman so that she gives birth prematurely, and no harm ensues, he shall surely be punished, shall receive as much fine as the husband of the wife demands, and the judges shall permit it. (WEB KJV JPS ASV BBE DBY WBS YLT NAS RSV NIV) I`m not talking about romantic feelings, sex, or physical attraction, which are often considered synonymous with love. These often form what people call “lovers”. While these things can be great, they will fluctuate over time. These are all wonderful things to have in a marriage, but none of them are unconditional. 1 Timothy 5:10 She was to be faithful to her only husband and report good deeds because she raised children, hospily welcomed strangers, washed the feet of God`s people, relieved the afflicted, and devoted herself to good works of all kinds. (WEY) Another Greek word in the New Testament is “δεσπότης” (despotis), meaning “lord” or “master,” and so the Greek Orthodox Church refers to bishops and how deacons address priests to reflect each man`s place in the clerical hierarchy. Greek Orthodox prayers are also addressed to Christ as “δεσπότης” (despotis) and as “κύριος” (kyrios), another word for “Lord”. Another way in which the relationship between man and woman, owner and owner, reflects the relationship of Christ and his Church.
Acts 5:9 And Peter asked them, “How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you. One of the most common complaints wives make about their husbands is that they don`t fit their roles and responsibilities in their marriage. We live in a time when words are constantly being redefined. One word that has recently undergone extreme redefinition is the word mari. This has led to confusion and excessive instability in families. For this reason, it is important to know what the biblical definition and role of a husband is. Genesis 2:15–21 gives a man three roles.
These three roles apply perfectly to the conjugal relationship. Many may disagree with these roles, but it is clear that this was God`s plan for husbands and husbands. Judges 13:9 God listened to the voice of Manoah; And the angel of God returned to the woman sitting in the field; but Manoah, her husband, was not with her. Husbands submit to God, which means they must submit to God`s authority over their lives and homes. A husband must provide for his wife`s spiritual needs (Ephesians 5:26-27), just as Christ provides for our spiritual needs (Romans 8:26-31). A husband must provide for his wife`s physical needs (Ephesians 5:28-30), just as Christ provides for our physical needs (Matthew 6:25-34). After all, a husband must provide for his wife`s emotional needs (Ephesians 5:31-33), just as Christ provides for our emotional needs (John 14:15-27).
