Clooney and his famous gang may have picked up the pace, omitted the vocals and raised the stakes in this high-tech line from Sinatra`s film, but parents may be concerned about excessive drinking, two extreme sexual obscenities, an obscene hand gesture and a pornographic image. Less obvious, but equally disturbing, is the unrepentant attitude of the main character and the fleeting habits of his conspirators. Families are wary of glorified thieves and liars may always want to refrain from navigating this ocean adventure. “OCEAN`S ELEVEN” (2001) (George Clooney, Brad Pitt) (PG-13) Alcohol/Drugs Blood/Disrespectful Gore/Bad Attitude Scary/Tense Scenes Rifles/Weapons Moderate Minor Severe Mild Moderate Imitation Behavior JumpScenes Music (scary/voltty) Music (inappropriate) Light obscenity No minors No heavy sex/nudity Smoking Family TenseScenes Topics to talk about violence Moderate Moderate Moderate Mild FAST SETTING: Drama: A recent probation officer assembles a team of men to rob three Vegas casinos in one night. Danny Ocean (GEORGE CLOONEY) has just been released from a New Jersey jail and he has already planned a new burglary – namely the departure of three Vegas casinos in one night. His motivation is twofold. For starters, the collective coffers of the Bellagio, MGM Grand and Mirage will cost more than $150 million in two weeks since the heavyweight boxing championship will be held in Las Vegas. Then there`s the fact that casino owner Terry Benedict (ANDY GARCIA) is dating Danny`s ex-wife, Tess (JULIA ROBERTS). Danny and his accomplice Rusty Ryan (BRAD PITT) know how difficult it is to commit the theft and set out to assemble a team of thieves made up of old acquaintances and new unknowns. There`s Reuben Tishkoff (ELLIOT GOULD), a former casino owner with a chip on his shoulder over Benedict. Basher Tarr (DON CHEADLE) and Livingston Dell (EDDIE JEMISON) will be recruited for their expertise in explosives and electronics, respectively, while brothers Malloy Virgil (CASEY AFFLECK) and Turk (SCOTT CAAN) will be brought in as pilots. The team is rounded out by Linus Caldwell (MATT DAMON), a skilled pickpocket and son of a legendary criminal, Frank Catton (BERNIE MAC), a casino dealer, Yen (SHAOBO QIN), an acrobatic contortionist, and Saul Bloom (CARL REINER), a former criminal who was brought out of retirement by the lure of a big win. When the team of eleven men then plans and sets out to commit their elaborate robbery, and Danny tries to reconcile with Tess, who wants nothing to do with him, they must face the ruthless and cunning Benedict, who will do anything to protect his money.
